After months with no real sign of life, here I am back with a new film called “Obsession.”

Which tale, have I decided to darken and modernize this time? Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Over here, fairy-tales always end badly and my new version of Snow White is no exception to the rule.

Extn.21 is a short film about one man’s desire to be heard. The film uses an innovative blend of atmospheric stop-frame animation, live action performance (a live action head on a stop-frame puppet) and digital effects to create a dark world of uncertain reality (9 mins).

The film won several awards, including a British Animation Award and a nomination for a British Independent Film Award. Broadcasts include: Channel 4 Television, Arte France/Germany, CBC Canada, Canal+ Poland and Universal Italy.

Qubit and the Cognitive Distortion” by Andre Lopes

* Selected to screen at MachinExpo 2011
* 4th Place at the UWA IV (University of Western Australia fourth edition of the “the art of the Artists”)
* 3rd place on Open This End Award of excellence in Film Direction facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2384432611087&set=o.406859367432

The real inspiration so as this idea came from the elaborate synthesis of many poems I wrote “1986” (poems in desk drawers). Qubit is nothing more than the character of this deep cognitive distortion. This work is included in the Challenge of the University of Western Australia in Second Life for the IV Edition, as well as 3D works displayed in this composition, as they are mentioned on the description / credits.

The word “Action!” frees me - the transformation is something I cannot explain - too much analysis might destroy it
Sophia Loren

‘Push’ by Lainy Voom

This film is a little bit of an experiment - what would happen if I gave myself 1 week to film, $50 and made the very first thing that popped into my head, no matter how ridiculous the idea, trying to go with the flow, being productive rather than procrastinating, and not over thinking anything (having previously felt constrained through creating a poem in a very strict style, this was a way of trying to clear out the cobwebs).

The result is difficult to explain and quite stream of conscioussness like. It loosely represents how humans are tied to the mechanics of time. We can relive the past through memories, or imagine the future, but our physical bodies cannot stop being a part of the process of time, evolutionary time etc
